Photograph Gallery Sandy Poole featured in one of our news letters in 2007 after being given two Berkshire gilts as a fortieth birthday present. They were the first Berkshires to come to Orkney. Here's an update on how they are getting on. Both are now mothers, Spliff had her babies on December 30th 2007 and Skolly had hers on March 17th of this year.Sandy AI'd them both as boars are not easy to come by, both girls have nine piglets, Spliff's are pure bred Berkshire and Skolly was crossed with a Tamworth. They have made excellent mothers and have grown into fine pigs. Sandy would also like to thank Donna Reid who sold the pigs and was always on hand to put Sandy's mind at rest and offer a friendly word and advice when needed.
