Bits and Pieces After a number of years and many editions, Sharon has passed over the Editor's role for our Club Magazine. As has been said by our Chair, this is a hard act to follow and our thanks to Sharon for all the hard work and effort in producing a quality breed club newsletter. Having taken over the baton, there are some new and some regular features. Our now Honorary Lifetime member (nee President), Vaughan Byrne, has kindly agreed to continue his historical account of our Breed. In the Vaughan's Historical (note: not hysterical, but the humour is interweaved) Snippets, we get the benefit of his personal research of the evolving bloodlines. I have also introduced a Recipe slot for those who would happily share their culinary secrets for the good of us all. If you have any delicious experiences for us all, please please send to me by any communication means. We will continue with our Show news and as this is the schedule season, there is quite a bit of information on forthcoming events. We have just held the AGM, which saw Vicky Mills unanimously appointed Chair. This is a great coup for the Club and we can be assured we have a dedicated, knowledgeable and enthusiastic chair. Our congratulations to Vicky and she can be assured of our support. Unfortunately, the AGM was too late for this newsletter but a full report will be in the next issue. Our Health section would welcome any hints and tips you can give. There is nothing like personal experience and in a small community like ours it will help those who do not have access to the Internet. Again all contributions are welcome.
Finally, many of our members do great stuff locally, which we do not
necessarily get to hear about, if you have been in the news lately, or
know someone that has, let me Contact Chris at Jobes Barn, Glebe Farm, Fosse Way, Ashorne, Warwickshire, CV35 9AE or telephone/fax 01926 650005. |
